Chapter 03
Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship demands a psychological fortitude that most people never develop. The uncertainty alone filters out the majority.
Entrepreneurship is a continual state of uncertainty - ESPECIALLY in the beginning Before I got into the game I was like “oh everyone should start a business” Then I realized how thicc your soul has to be to stomach the lows or sit comfortably through the rollercoasters Few
The barrier isn’t intelligence or connections. It’s simply your willingness to feel like an idiot for six months straight.
The High-Ticket Closing Path
Grant documented his journey from zero to six figures through high-ticket closing in real-time. His first move was targeting coaches, consultants, and service providers with actual offers worth selling.
Mission accomplished. Closed the first call I got on with a guy in ecomm & already have appointments coming in for him. We clicked & he brought me on instantly. His offer is $5k (really good fucking offer) @ 13% commission. Min quota is 20 sales / month
The evolution he describes is clear: random sales job leads to thinking “there’s a better way,” which leads to half-assing a first business, abandoning it for high-ticket work, learning everything about online business, then creating your own offer at scale.
The evolution of the rich closing chad e-millionaire: 1) Random sales job @ 20 2) Thinks “there’s a better way” 3) Half asses first business 4) Abandons biz & ends up in high ticket 5) Learns everything online biz 6) Creates own offer 7) 100k months Ez game.
High-ticket closing teaches you the complete online business stack. Every sales call is an MBA lesson taught by millionaires.
Understand if you’re a high ticket closer you’re literally going to be rich as fuck. It’s a given. It’s already done. Your closing experience gives you (quite literally) an online business MBA that school could NEVER give you - taught by millionaires. Create own offer BAG.
The Three Critical Skills
Making money online collapses to three fundamental abilities.
Here are the top 3 skills to master if you’re broke and have NONE: 1) Sales 2) Lead generation 3) Offer creation Master them all - print cash.
Or expressed differently: product-market fit, traffic generation, and selling. Everything else is distraction.
The only 3 skills you need to leave your 9-5 forever: 1) How to test your way to product market fit 2) How to grow an audience / generate traffic 3) How to sell It simple.
Each of these skills can be learned in roughly 20 hours of focused study. The internet has made expertise accessible.
Starting From Zero
The advice for beginners is brutally direct: do something for someone with money and get them to pay you.
If you’re young and have NOTHING to teach… It is a service-based business. Simply do something for someone with money and get them to pay you. Copy, sales, email marketing, seo, funnel building, web design, email deliverability, content marketing, employee placement, etc. learn SOMETHING.
The first client matters more than anything. Get one testimonial through disgustingly good delivery, even if it means working for free initially.
Grant’s first dollar online came from Upwork. A client wanted five 200-word painting articles for $25. He delivered five 500-1000 word fully SEO’d articles instead. That testimonial carried his entire business forward.
Positively obliterating expectations is how you get testimonials that will carry your business.
The unscalable work is how you build momentum from zero. You customize so specifically to one person’s needs that saying no becomes impossible. Then you repeat that process with slightly more leverage each time.
Sales as Foundation
Sales ability creates asymmetric optionality. If you can sell, you can minimize business risk to absurd degrees by selling first, then building.
Sales = FOUNDATION of business. If you can SELL… You can minimize your business risk to astounding degrees by selling FIRST (without needing to purchase ANY infrastructure until AFTER the close). Can CLOSE DEALS W/ NOTHING. BUT WORDS. $0 Invested.
The sales process itself is straightforward. Ask them what they want, why they want it, what they’ve tried before, why they think your thing will work better. Then pitch them what they just told you they want.
Sales is so laughably easy. 1) Ask dem wat want 2) Ask dem why want dat 3) Ask dem wat try in the past (that failed) 4) Ask dem why think this new ting will be more helpful than old tings (then agree w/ what they say) 5) Literally just pitch them wat they say they want ?????
Most sales training is worthless because it focuses on tactics instead of fundamentals. The real key is knowing what you’re selling better than anyone else.
Have quite literally never thought about frame on a sales call EVER because I’ve actually always been the authority at whatever the fuck i’m selling. This is what so many n00b closers completely miss
When you’re the expert, frame takes care of itself. People defer to the doctor because the doctor has the information.
Understanding Your Market
Product-market fit is the highest leverage skill a business owner can develop.
The “highest paid skill” that you can have as a business owner is becoming a MASTER of product-market fit So many problems faced by business owners are because people don’t actually want their shit Have the vision to sell someone what they WANT to buy and you’ll print
Every customer you acquire is a data point that research cannot touch. Call them. Understand their mind. Ask why they purchased, why they chose you, why competitors turned them off.
Every CUSTOMER you acquire is a data point that market research cannot TOUCH You have a literal example of WHO has just PAID YOU Call them and talk to them. Understand their mind. Ask WHY they purchased. Ask why they went with YOU. Ask why competitors turned them off. INFO
The number one principle when dealing with people: their self-interest. Not your wants, not your product, not your features. Their wants.
The #1 fundamental principle that needs to be kept @ forefront of mind when dealing with anything relating to people is THEIR self interest. So simple yet literally no1 does it lmao. Content? THEIR wants Product? CUSTOMER wants GIRLS? HER wants Biz connect? HIS wants Not hard
The Psychology Game
Deep understanding of psychology makes you a god-level marketer. You can train yourself to feel when messaging hits or misses.
A god-level understanding of psychology makes you a god-level marketer & content creator. Not many people know this but you can actually train yourself to FEEL the psychological relatability of your messaging. Whether it be COPY, CONTENT, ADS, VIDEOS ETC. You can FEEL when the messaging misses. There is no POP. No PIZZAZ. And when it hits? OH FUCK. THAT’S GOOD. You FEEL it.
Enter the conversation already taking place in the customer’s mind. Every word you say generates a verbal reaction in their internal dialogue. Predict those reactions and address them in real time.
The biggest skill is hierarchically weighing value points. On a sales call you get 400 pieces of data. Which 2-3 problems give you the most leverage? In your content, what part of this idea is most valuable to your viewer?
Personal Brand as Vehicle
Building an audience and selling them a high-ticket product based on your skillset or life experience is the lowest-hanging fruit to escape the 9-5.
Building an audience & selling them a high ticket product/service based around your skillset/ life experience is the lowest-hanging fruit available to escape the 9-5 forever Anyone with some internal fortitude can hit “escape velocity” in 3-4 months if they put the effort in
The personal brand allows you to be multi-faceted. You don’t just talk about your monetization topic. You talk about your life.
Your personal brand is exactly that. A brand that reflects you as a person. and your energetic signature is what does all of the heavy lifting when it comes to monetization.
Grant ran a dating offer while mostly posting mindset content on TikTok. The goodwill from being yourself allows you to sell anything that makes sense for your audience.
The Emotional Gauntlet
Starting from zero sucks more than it ever will again. No leverage, no connections, no knowledge. But every successful person went through it.
It is never as hard as it is in the beginning EVER AGAIN. One thing a lot of new business owners fall into the trap of is simply not understanding that starting from 0 fucking sucks. No leverage, no connections, no knowledge on how to do anything or how to get people results. It’s fucking HARD.
You need runway. Save up enough money to give yourself breathing room to learn. The people who fail quit in the 1-2 year bullshit learning period.
Six months of feeling stupid will make you rich. The only reason people settle for less than they deserve financially is they won’t look like an idiot long enough to see results.
6 months of feeling stupid WILL MAKE YOU RICH. The ONLY reason we settle for less than we deserve financially is because we are simply not willing to look like and feel like an idiot long enough to see results.
Most people severely underestimate the amount of “feeling like an idiot” required to be successful. There is no way around it. Give yourself permission to feel dumb and do what’s required anyway.
Leverage and Freedom
The goal is building leverage so your required work hours decrease while income potential increases. Grant structures his businesses around maximum 10 required hours per week, with freedom to work more when he wants.
Choose any business model & force yourself to schedule out time to work - then do some ACTUAL work. No mental masturbation Force yourself to do 10 min work blocks with a hunger to actually get $1 over the line and you will have $$ coming in 2-3 months.
Financial freedom starts much lower than most think. Get to $2-10k per month online and nobody can tell you shit. You can move to cheaper countries and have complete control over your time.
Freedom is now a game of “how bad do you want it”. An “average” person can learn basic biz skills (marketing + sales) & create content on the internet to be fully self-employed within 6-12 months (assuming they control their expenses).
The average person funds the chains that hold them down. They finance cars to impress people who won’t be at their funeral. Freedom is actually cheaper than what you’re already paying.
Systems Thinking
Business is systems. You need to think in terms of how pieces connect, not isolated components.
Your life gets EASIER if you think in SYSTEMS. Ideas like these come easily and naturally. Must realize everything is interconnected - especially systems that make money. Most of you suck at offers because you are component thinkers which is what is forcing you to copy all of the systems thinkers
A business is an extrapolated sales argument. If there’s no sales argument, nobody is buying. Your conceptual overall argument gets broken into segments: top, middle, and bottom of funnel. Each segment needs its own mini sales argument to push people forward.
The fundamental question loop: Do people want this? Do I have enough traffic to judge? If no, what do they want? If yes, how can I reduce friction?
Delivery and Integrity
Most people focus only on selling and forget the entire point: getting someone into a good product so they tell their friends.
“Let’s not fuck anyone over, deliver the best fucking product on the market, and get disgustingly rich” Yes
Overdelivery creates word-of-mouth flywheels. But you need 30-100 iterations of your product first. Which means you need to get 30-50 clients. Which means you need marketing and sales.
Grant’s stance on info products is clear: most suck because creators focus on launching instead of delivering. There’s no competition because almost nobody genuinely cares about customer results.
The Beginner’s Trap
New entrepreneurs perpetually avoid the poverty work required to get one good testimonial. They want magic without eating shit once.
Many newbs perpetually avoid doing the poverty/brunt/one-sided asymmetrical work required to get just one good testimonial…. forever. They literally won’t eat shit once to set themselves up for life.
Do something incredible for free for someone who actually wants it. Get the testimonial. Use it to stair-step to bigger clients. This is how momentum builds.
The non-scalable work is exactly how you gain momentum from zero. Things that can’t scale because they’re so custom and valuable to the specific person that they have to say yes.
Energy and Performance
Your energy determines your ability to execute. Most people walk around with destroyed dopamine systems and think they have a discipline problem.
Most people are walking around with their energy levels & dopamine systems absolutely shot and think they have a willpower/discipline problem. NO. You have an ENERGY problem which is actually a systems problem in your own life. Raise your energy - raise your life.
Grant discovered tasks he couldn’t do while smoking weed became easy after he quit, dialed in sleep, cut sugar, and worked out harder. The energy explosion made 40-unit tasks feel like nothing.
Learning the Game
Every business model will work if you make it work. The question isn’t “what model should I choose” but “what model aligns with the life I want to design.”
Choose a game and stick to it long enough to get good at playing it.
Grant took 50,000+ sales calls over three years. He was called “the monotoned salesman” at first. He practiced on every call until tonality became second nature. He worked through emotional blocks to express more freely.
The required struggle filters most people out. Before getting into entrepreneurship, Grant told everyone to start a business. After getting in, he realized it’s not for everybody. The struggle is something the average person isn’t prepared for.
Before I got into entrepreneurship game I would tell everyone “START A BUSINESS” “HOW CAN U SETTLE FOR A JOB” Then I got into the game and realized oh F**** This is not for everybody. The required struggle is something the average person is simply not prepared for.
The Financial Architecture
Expenses control your entrepreneurial skill requirement. If you make $100k at a job and have $5-6k monthly fixed expenses, you’ve made six-figure entrepreneurship your minimum bar.
You’ve now made your level of fixed expenses you’ve acquired while employed your entrepreneurial skill requirement. You now at minimum HAVE to become a 6-figure entrepreneur to be free - which is an incredibly difficult skillstack to acquire with a full-time job no matter who you are.
The truth is everyone could obtain freedom if they controlled expenses and allowed enough time to build entrepreneurial skills. But most people would rather flex their picket fence and BMW than be free.
You can live for $500-1000/month in many countries. Freedom is cheaper than what you’re paying now. But egos can’t stomach the perceived step backwards.
Key Principles
The beginning is the hardest it will ever be. You have no leverage, knowledge, or connections. Push through the 1-2 year learning period.
Master the three core skills: sales, lead generation, and offer creation. Everything else is secondary.
Start with unscalable work to get your first testimonial. Overdeliver absurdly. Use that social proof to climb.
Product-market fit is the highest leverage skill. Sell people what they want to buy, not what you want to sell.
Sales is simply helping people. If you know your product better than anyone, frame takes care of itself.
Personal brand allows multi-dimensional monetization. Talk about your life, not just your niche.
Energy determines execution capacity. Fix your physical health before worrying about discipline.
Control your expenses to lower your entrepreneurial skill floor. Freedom starts at $2-10k per month, not $100k.
Feel like an idiot for six months. It’s the only path. Everyone successful went through it.
The struggle filters most people. Entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay.
Grant’s entrepreneurship philosophy centers on psychological resilience, customer-focused selling, and building leverage through skill acquisition. His path from high-ticket closer to offer owner to multi-business operator follows a clear pattern: learn to sell, understand what people want, deliver exceptionally, systemize, scale.
