Chapter 13
Energy Management
The foundation of everything you want in life sits downstream from a single variable: your energy levels. Most people are trapped in a perpetual state of exhaustion, wondering why they can’t execute, why they lack discipline, why they feel stuck. The answer isn’t what you think.
Your Energy Problem Is Actually Everything
You don’t have a discipline problem. You have an energy problem.
“99% of dudes completely already fucked because they genuinely think they are a loser (consciously or subconsciously) Have to fundamentally fix this You’re always going to land where your subconscious is shooting.” Source
When your energy is destroyed, every task feels insurmountable. Your brain says “we can’t do that now” not because you’re lazy, but because it genuinely cannot estimate the energy cost of unclear tasks. The problem compounds: low energy creates unclear thinking, unclear thinking creates procrastination, procrastination creates self-hatred, self-hatred drains more energy.
Most attribute this to character flaws. They think they’re broken. They’re not. They’re just running a destroyed operating system on a depleted battery.
“Once your closing skills are dialed in, you MUST learn how to manage your energy. Book your calendar full with 12-14 calls in a day. All your energetic weak points will get exposed. Will be forced to alter diet, sleep, emotional expulsion etc to be table to take that volume” Source
The body adapts. But you need to understand what you’re working with first.
The Biology of Getting Shit Done
Your body is not a computer that runs at constant output. It operates in waves. Sprint, rest. Attack, recover. This is not a bug—it’s the design.
“Productivity (and getting results) is always a SPRINT/REST dynamic instead of a ‘perpetually chug along at same speed’ dynamic.” Source
The 9-5 paradigm has poisoned your understanding of how humans actually function. You’re not meant to produce at identical intensity for eight consecutive hours. That’s a factory model imposed on organic machinery.
When you push abnormally hard, your body clocks it. Within 2-4 days, you’ll be forced to rest whether you like it or not. You can delay this for a cycle or two, but the debt accumulates. Eventually, biology throttles you into submission.
Understanding this changes the game. Instead of fighting your natural rhythms, you design around them. You capture your manic highs in systems that compound. You rest strategically instead of crashing randomly.
“As you understand more about yourself & the world, you eventually are able to see ‘the invisible things around you that influenced you’ that as a kid you were blind to that you ended up misattributing to YOURSELF” Source
The Two-Week Reset
Most people’s energy is wrecked by three things: stimulants, garbage food, and destroyed sleep schedules. The fix is brutally simple, but requires weathering a shit period.
“If you fix your energy everything will basically fix itself. But there’s a ‘two week shit period’ that you have to go through to get to ‘actual energy’.” Source
The protocol: 1. No coffee, stimulants, or alcohol 2. Real food only 3. Eight hours of sleep at identical times 4. Workout 4x per week 5. Drink enough water
For the first 14 days, you’ll be tired and hungry. Your body is recalibrating. Don’t fight it. Sleep when you need to. Eat as much as you want. The ONLY goal is making it to day 14.
Then something shifts. Energy you forgot existed comes back online. Your hunger regulates. Your sleep deepens. You’re suddenly operating at a level you didn’t know was possible.
“Going 0 caffeine & fasting during most of day is wildest energy hack in the game You simply never crash” Source
This isn’t theory. This is the most pragmatic move you can make. Everything else is trying to drive with the parking brake on.
Learning to Read Your Body
Your body is always talking, but most people can’t hear it. They use umbrella terms like “tired” or “stressed” without distinguishing between surface exhaustion and nervous system depletion.
“Ur body is always TALKING but does so in a very subtle way Once you can feel & interpret the nuanced sensations you gain a much deeper control / understanding” Source
There are two types of tiredness. Surface level is when you’re tired but can still go out and socialize. Your central nervous system is fine. Visceral tired is when coffee does nothing and you keep yawning. Your CNS is cooked.
Learning to distinguish these states tells you whether to push through or rest. Pushing through visceral exhaustion doesn’t build discipline—it builds burnout.
The body also stores emotional energy in specific locations. Tightness in your hips affects your ability to ground. Tension in your shoulders affects your breathing. These aren’t separate systems. It’s one unified organism.
“Your body will expend effortless amounts of infinite energy defending what you believe to be true But will fight you tremendously hard when you begin exerting energy to seek information that proves what you know isn’t true” Source
When you become attuned to these signals, you stop fighting yourself. You work with your design instead of against it.
Substances and the Yin-Yang Trap
Every substance that gives you something also takes it back with interest. This is non-negotiable physics.
“If you drink coffee for ENERGY and MOTIVATION… You will eventually crash. And have no energy.” Source
Coffee compresses your energy window. You get intense focus for a few hours, then irritability and depletion. The normie solution is more coffee. The intelligent solution is removing coffee entirely and discovering what your baseline actually is.
The same pattern applies to everything. Alcohol removes social anxiety—then amplifies it tenfold when sober. Weed reduces anxiety—then makes it worse later. The rebound is built into the mechanism.
“Society under-severitizes caffeine IMO. Many walking around w/ neuroticies/energy issues unconsciously fueled by caffeine” Source
Most people are in a perpetual debt cycle with their own nervous system, borrowing from tomorrow to function today. You can’t win this game long-term. The only winning move is to stop playing it.
The Alignment Override
Energy management isn’t just about sleep and food. The biggest energy drain is misalignment.
“What you’re doing with your life is the most important question. Why? Because ‘what you’re doing’ is the core nucleus that affects your entire energetic system/being that is known as ‘you’.” Source
When you’re doing shit you hate, your body resists. It drags. It fights you. When you’re aligned with what you actually want, energy appears effortlessly. This isn’t motivation porn—it’s observable reality.
The misalignment tax is astronomical. You spend all your energy fighting yourself instead of building. You wake up tired because your subconscious is screaming at you to stop.
“Your mental health issues are FLOW PROBLEMS which are ALIGNMENT PROBLEMS Re-align your life with TOUGH CONVERSATIONS & DOING THINGS YOUR OWN WAY TO SATISFY YOURSELF & you immediately open those channels back up & FEEL the nourishment.” Source
Fix the big things first. No amount of optimizing sleep or diet will make you love a job that destroys your soul.
Walking: The Most Underrated Tool
The lymphatic system clears toxins from your body. Unlike your circulatory system, it has no pump. It relies on movement—specifically, walking.
“Started walking more (10-20k steps/day) & began to feel the lymphs release harder in sleep…Then realized that they are in perfect spots to be ‘shaken up’ via walking.” Source
Walking does things that intense exercise cannot. It drains your lymphatic system more effectively than lifting. It grounds your nervous system. It provides mental clarity without depleting your CNS.
The mechanism is elegant: your arms swing (armpits drain), your knees extend (knees drain), your body rotates (collarbone drains). Everything moves in the exact way required for lymphatic drainage.
“By far the most monstrously ‘effortless’ weightloss hack that nobody talks about is walking daily in busy places with high dopamine.” Source
Two one-hour walks per day. In busy areas where you can people-watch. Your brain doesn’t register the effort because it’s occupied. Free steps, free detox, free mental reset.
The Energy-First Frame
When you’re low on energy, your perception warps. Problems feel heavier than they are. Your mind attributes the weight of exhaustion to the problem itself.
“If you ever swan-dive into a shitty psychological state, the MAJORITY of that state will be physiology-driven.” Source
This creates a vicious cycle. You feel bad, so you analyze why you feel bad, which makes you feel worse. The analysis itself becomes the problem.
The solution is to recognize when you’re operating from a depleted state and refuse to make decisions or draw conclusions. Fix your physiology first. Then reassess. Most of what felt catastrophic will evaporate.
“The way you can ‘bounce out’ fairly aggressively (and keep your psyche bouyant) is by realizing the LOW is mostly physiologically driven - and your mind will attach narratives to rationalize the feeling” Source
Your thoughts when tired are not trustworthy. They’re rationalization engines for a depleted state. Treat them accordingly.
Designing for Your Highs
You can’t maintain peak energy forever. The question isn’t “how do I stay energized all the time?” It’s “how do I maximize my productive windows when they appear?”
“The massive re-frame isn’t ‘how can i extend the energy/clarity window forever’…The question is instead ‘how can I position my environment for a lay-up 100x when the next wave strikes’” Source
This requires preparation. The night before a high-energy day, you clarify exactly what needs to be done. You remove friction. You eliminate decisions.
When the wave hits, you don’t waste it figuring out what to do. You execute. The preparation was the leverage point.
This is why organization matters. Not for aesthetic reasons, but because clear environments create clear execution paths. When your desk is clean and your task is obvious, your high-energy self has a runway to sprint down.
Energy as Spiritual Flow
At the deepest level, energy isn’t just biological—it’s spiritual. When you’re aligned with your true path, energy flows effortlessly. When you’re misaligned, everything becomes heavy.
“Alignment feels like pulling from the infinite spring, not artificially replenshing a broken system all of the time.” Source
This is why obligations drain you and missions energize you. One fights your nature. The other expresses it.
The goal isn’t to become a productivity robot. It’s to design a life where what you need to do and what you want to do are the same thing. Where work feels like play. Where the energy required appears naturally because you’re pointed in the right direction.
“God is waiting to imbue you with all that you need. The infinite surplus is on hold awaiting your command…You ASK, and it will be given. But your ASK must be in the form of ASKTIONS” Source
Key Principles
You don’t have a discipline problem—you have an energy problem. Fix your energy and most execution issues vanish.
Your body operates in waves, not constants. Design for sprint-rest cycles instead of fighting your natural rhythm.
The two-week reset is non-negotiable. Cut stimulants, eat real food, sleep consistently. Endure the transition period.
Learn to distinguish surface tired from nervous system tired. One means push through, the other means rest.
Substances always take back what they give, with interest. The rebound is built into the mechanism.
Misalignment is the biggest energy drain. No optimization hack can fix doing shit you hate.
Walking drains your lymphatic system better than intense exercise. 10-20k steps daily in busy areas.
Your thoughts when tired are not trustworthy. They’re rationalizations for a depleted state.
Don’t waste high-energy windows figuring out what to do. Prepare the night before so you can execute when the wave hits.
Alignment unlocks infinite energy. When you’re on your true path, the energy appears automatically.
